October Housing Statistics

With the recent events going on with the financial crisis it appears that the Boise real estate market is far from dead. For the month of October, 2008, there were approximately 4340 homes on the market in Ada County, 399 homes were sold, and an average price of $233,000. Compared to this time the previous year this is turning out to be a buyers market. Even though homes are selling they tend to sit on the market for about 25 days longer than the same month last year.

The most action was seen in southwest Boise with 51 homes sold.

    Jason,
I have enjoyed your blog for some time. I enjoy the extra little tidbits about Boise that you put in your blog, as I was raised in Boise, but left when I graduated from Boise High School.

From your notes, I gather, you are a Real Estate Agent? Am I correct on this part? I am wondering how the real estate market is in the Boise north end. This was the area I lived in and where my heart is.

Hi Karen, thanks for visiting. I used to be a real estate agent but I have alternate motives for this site. BTW: I too graduated from Boise High, that would be almost 20 years ago… :-\

As for the north end it is still the north end, highly sought after and making up only about 5 to 7 percent of the real estate market. The numbers this year aren’t that different than last. In my opinion the north end is holding value and the homes are still selling even with the national market in a slump. Yet if you are looking for some better info I suggest contacting a practicing Realtor.
