Politicians
Had an interesting day today… Met Congressman Simpson and I guess I hoped for something positive but I am very disappointed. Sure he supports much of the agriculture and the interests of many US farmers but what about everything else? Actually, it isnt’ all his fault but he freely admits that Congress is reacting to issues instead of being proactive. Why is it that the government is always reacting to a crisis instead of planning and preventing crisis? Currently we are faced with environmental issues, energy issues, health care issues, social security, foreclosure and bank issues, for the most part our economy is crashing and you know what he said? “Nobody wants to discuss them.” Interesting how we have all these crisis’ on the table and no one wants to discuss them. Mainly because it is an election year! Interesting!
The American people really need to take an active approach here. What are we waiting for, an outbreak of some weird disease like Aid, bird flu, or West Nile to dwindle off the population so we can get a hold of the social security issue? Maybe all these crisis situations will cure themselves. Hey atleast the democrats and the republicans have their agendas… maybe someday the American people will get the attention rather than which party has control of the government.
To be honest I don’t know much about politics but it is frustrating when we are faced with crisis after crisis and nothing more than a short term baind aid is applied to the situation. I am not lashing out at the Congressman himself just the system.
