Live in the Here and Now – Part 2

I never used to be much of a crier… Makes sense I am a man but something happened after I became a father. Everything changed for me and I found myself experiencing emotions a little differently. This next part of the “Live in the Here and Now” has to do with another hero that after I read it brought tears to my eyes.

This one has to do with another tragedy that should of never happen, yet did. This story can be found by in the Associated Press.

I go to church weekly, try too, and it feels like a safe place. You say hi to friends greet strangers and smile, not to mention the Godly stuff. Well now imagine a man with a shotgun opening fire! What would you do??? Running comes to mind but for a gentleman named Greg McKendry did just the opposite,

The Associated Press reports, “McKendry stood in the front of the gunman and took the blast to protect others.”

Yet, people were still killed and injured before the gunman was taken down by other church goers. There seem to be a lot of heroes here but it is too bad that there is a need for heroes.

So many of us live each day regretting the things we don’t have or don’t make good use of the things we do. Reading about McKendry and Zoller, people who did what needed to be done, makes me question what I would do. Honestly, I hope I never have to find out. But one thing is for certain, I need to live in the here and now. Make the most of what I do have and not live wanting or regretting. All I have is the here and now!
