What Thieves Are Doing to Get Gas
State police have encountered a new or at least a more popular way for thieves to steal gas in the midst of high gas prices. License plates are being stolen from parked cars and placed on the thief’s car. Then they fill up at the gas station and drive away without paying. Your license plate is the one sited for the crime. This is happening currently in Boise.
South Central District Health, has also reported that a parked car had a hole drilled in the gas tank and the contents emptied overnight recently.
The state police asks that you check your plates a couple of times a week. Only one is taken, so check for both your plates. Report any thefts to the police.
