Floating the Boise River

A popular summertime activity in Boise, to cool down, is floating the river. You can float the river by inner tube, kayak, or raft. If you get in at Barber Park and float to Ann Morrison Park the trip can take 2 to 3 hours and is a fun time for the whole family.

During the summer, shuttles service river goers for a small fee and tubes and rafts can be rented at Barber Park. It is always a good idea to call and make sure they are not sold out before heading up.

When floating the Boise River you forget that you are in the city. It is a peaceful experience with Class I-II water while keeping an eye out for wildlife.
