Boise River
Every spring water is let from the Lucky Peak Reservoir to make room for the melt from the snow pack in the mountains.

The Boise River runs through the heart of Boise and will soon be peppered with tubers and rafters, not seeking thrills but to cool down from the hot summer day.
Along the Boise River are miles of greenbelt that provides locals with a nice backdrop for walking, running, and cycling.

Whether you are looking for some good fishing, romantic walk along the river, or simply escape the 102 degree day the Boise River is there for you.

Although this river is rather mild in terms of rapids, it is by no means one to take lightly. Be careful especially if you have kids with you and always wear life jackets. Respect the river.

By far this is the best river to take your family down. It offers a fun ride, with some obstacles, but mostly you can just cool off from the Boise heat and relax on a tube floating down a river. Don’t become complacent, though.
